My First Guitar
One afternoon on ahot day,I was shopping at Costco with my mom. As I was walking down the aisles,I saw an electric guitar for sale. It was a Fender Squier Starcaster. I was amazed and I said to myself,“Wow! I want that.”It came with an amplifier, strap, picks, a gig bag, cable, and an extra set of electric strings (gauges 10-42).The guitar was very cheesy withtwosimple colors:black and white. I begged my mom to buy me the guitar. She told me thatIhadearned it because I was taking care of my brother and sister for three days while she was at work.
When my mother grabbedthe box and loaded it onto the cart, I was beyond excited. I was full of joy and happiness that I wasfinallygetting my first guitar. It was an indescribable feeling. It felt like Satan came to me and said “Take this guitar and make metal great again. Stomponall the posers you come across with”.My mother smiled back at me with joy.I couldn’t wait until we gothome,so I could open it. It felt like Christmas again.
Upon arrival, I raced out of the car, but first I has to help unload thegroceries. It felt like yearspassed by because I wanted to rip through the boxand open my guitar.I could feel the adrenaline start to flow. I was so hyped and pumped. Once they brought my guitar into the room,I couldn’t believe it was happening.Everyone gathered around me for the moment. It felt as I was opening a birthday present while everyone was watching to see what it was. Everyone was happy and smiling at me.
Finally, the moment came. I started opening the box and pulled out the amp first. It was in a small cardboard box wrapped in bubble wrap. I unwrapped and pulled it out, along with the other accessories. The strap, stings, picks, and gig bag came in another box. When I pulled out the guitar, it was wrapped in Styrofoam. I examined the guitar and I was blown away. It had a very shiny glossy finish that I could see my own reflection. I could feel the excitement racing through my body.I picked it up and put on the strap that came with it. My mother grab hercamera to take a picture of me. I was so excited I didn’t realize I put on the strap backward. I set the guitar aside and when to take out the boxes to the recycling bin. I took my amp into room along with my guitar. At that moment, I realize that my music careerwould soon start. I was so excited!
A week later since I acquired my guitar, I had trouble learning. I didn’t know much about guitar or where to start. I always wanted to play like those famous guitar players like James Hetfield from Metallica, Dave Mustaine from Megadeth, and, Adrian Smith & Dave Murry from Iron Maiden and still do. It’s always been a passion of mine to pick up a guitar and kick ass on stage! But my knowledge for music will grow over time and one day I will be famous.
